Job Description:

The cover artist will work directly with the author or a liaison to produce vivid covers that reflect the diverse stories and characters with the book. Cover artists must also work with the Publicist to create promotional materials for the book cover art they create.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Willingness and ability to create book covers featuring diverse characters.
  • Confer with author or publisher to understand to tone of the book.
  • Develop at least three conceptual covers for the author or publisher to select from.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Adobe.
  • Knowledge of typography.
  • Book Layout knowledge.
  • Manages time effectively.

Job Description:

We are looking for an editor with a good sense of what makes an interesting story, to juggle all the moving parts of publications. You will plan, coordinate, review, edit content and work with an author to make sure a literary work has no inconsistencies, misspelled words or grammatical errors as well as working with design artists, production personnel and marketing departments to produce an attractive product and promote it successfully.

The successful candidate will be able to decide which ideas should be pursued and which should get dropped in order to meet quality and accuracy standards. The goal is to provide exceptional, diverse and engaging content.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Lore Lush Book Editor:

  • Finds books and develops ideas for diverse books.
  • Reviews book queries/proposals.
  • Eliminates gaps in progression of a book.
  • Assists the author in developing their diverse stories
  • Verifies facts, dates and statistics.

  • Prepare publishing schedules and oversee each project through production.
  • Communicate with authors and agents.
  • Assist in the acquisition process by reading and assessing submissions and responding to submissions in a timely manner.
  • Create and prepare forms: contracts, financial statements, memos, and requests/reports.
  • Represent LLP on social media; may be required to attend book related events.

The publicist will be responsible for crafting and promoting a company’s image, visibility, and brand. A publicist position for Lore Lush Publishing, involves the ability to think creatively, a willingness to conduct independent research into the company’s target market, and the capability to craft effective marketing practices and working with directly with authors.

A publicist crafts press releases and promotional materials, assists in the design of book advertisements, organizes special book/author events, and acts as a liaison between the author/publisher and the consumer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages company’s Internet presence on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites.
  • Writes press releases.
  • Works directly with book bloggers & reviewers to promote LLP’s books.
